This afternoon my two Little Tots have made a beautiful Mother’s Day card each ready for next Sunday. I set up the materials, demonstrated how to make one flower and they quietly sat and made their own until everything had been used up. This would also make a great craft for Spring or a spring time birthday card (this post contains affiliate links).

You will need:

  • Coloured card for the actual card
  • Different coloured card for the flower pot (we used gold as we didn’t have any brown)
  • Green Craft Sticks (or you could paint plain ones)
  • Floral print paper(or you could use plain paper in pastel shades)
  • Pencils or pens to write inside
  • Glue and glue sticks
  • Scissors

I set up this little invitation to create Mother’s Day cards by laying out all the materials ready for them. I pre-cut the floral paper into different flower shapes and sizes as well as different petal shapes and cut out some plant pot shapes from the gold card.

Apart from writing on the card for them and explaining to them not to glue along the top of the plant pot so we could put the flowers in once dry the Little Tots (aged 2 and 4 years old) have created these beautiful cards by themselves.

We ran out of green craft sticks so we continued making them using plain sticks that we will paint later and maybe make a vase for them out of paper tubes for a further gift.
